Chapter III - RELATIONSHIPS - THE THREE CHURCH FARM
In 1988, through the generous donation of a tract of land on Ballou Road, southeast of St. John's by Ms. Virginia Weiss, the Three Church Farm, Inc. was formed including St. Paul's Lutheran, Holy Trinity Lutheran and St. John's. On December 18, 1988 the necessary papers of incorporation were filed with the State of Ohio designating this gift of land and wooded area to be used by the three congregations as a place of fellowship, camping, worship and appreciation of God's beautiful creation. Each congregation appointed delegates to serve on a joint committee for planning purposes.
For the first two years, most of the work to be done focused on clearing the countless junk piles which had accumulated during the years of use by a family who raised pigs on the property. A worship area was cleared in the woods for joint summer time worship, picnics were scheduled for the three congregations and bulldozing contracted to clear much of the undergrowth which covered the open areas.
In the summer of 1991, a joint volunteer crew constructed a shelter house in one Saturday and in 1992, plans are already made to hold a joint Easter Sunrise Service on the site with a joint breakfast at St. John's afterwards.
